Ecosystems



This post will cover some basics about what an ecosystem is (en inglés y español). I will also provide some wonderful video resources for kids as well as for older students and parents. The central themes are:

WHAT IS AN ECOSYSTEM?

 The word ecosystem is a portmanteau (a hybrid, or joining) of two words: 'ecological' and 'systems'. Ecological comes from the Greek 'eco,' meaning house and 'logia' meaning study. In the term 'ecosystem,' the prefix 'eco' is combined with the word 'system,' which means a set of connected things or parts forming a complex whole.

 An ecosystem is a natural system formed by a group of living organisms (such as plants and animals) as well as non-living things (such as rivers and mountains). An ecosystem is a specific environment comprised of interdependent organisms which share the same habitat.

La palabra ecosistema tiene dos partes: 'eco,' que significa casa o habitat, y 'sistema,' que significa un conjunto ordenado por normas.

Un ecosistema es un sistema natural que está formado por un conjunto de organismos vivos (como animales y plantas) y nonvivos (como rios y montanas). Un ecosistema es una unidad compuesta de organismos interdependientes que comparten el mismo hábitat.

Ejemplos de ecosistemas son los desiertos, las selvas, los oceanos, los lagos y muchos mas.

Dress Code for Female Teachers in Thailand

Since I am a female teacher, I must wear a skirt to work every day. Now, if you’re a feisty feminist like myself, you probably do not fancy this at all. That being said, I have gotten used to it. Movies

  In this unit, you can practice movie genre vocabulary including: like, don't like, watch, movies, genres, animated, comedy, action, science fiction, fantasy, romance, drama, horror, and documentary.
