The images on these sites are free, without copyrights that you can use for vocabulary cards, worksheets, posters, or other media. There's a wide variety on both sites that will give you plenty to choose from.
If you're a student, you can also use these images for school projects, presentations or to make your own flashcards or picture dictionaries to study at home. Visual learning is very important for recalling new words, phrases and concepts.

It may seem obvious, but don't forget that you can also edit the photos for better quality or to fit your personal aesthetics or practical requirements. Maybe the image of the horse above is too large for your vocabulary card and too difficult to see at the back of the classroom. If you crop the photo and boost the colour, clarity/sharpness and shadows, you can make the image more defined, as demonstrated in the version below.
