This is a fun vocabulary lesson to do with young ESL students. You can practice any number of dialogue patterns such as, "Who is your favourite?" / "My favourite is..." to more advanced lessons such as comparatives, ie. "Who do you like better, Moana or Princess Kida?" / "I like... better." / "Who does (name) like better?" / "(Name) likes ... better."
If you are a student, you can try writing a dialogue between different characters or a story about their adventures together! A great creative writing idea is to get together a study group and have each student write one sentence at a time, creating the story together. For example, student one writes the sentence, "One day, Shelly the Sea Princess was swimming in the ocean when she saw the sun glinting off a black fin in the water." Student two writes the next sentence, "For a moment, she was terrified until she realized the shark fin belonged to her old friend Lenny, the friendliest shark around." Each student adds one sentence to the story until the group decides it's finished.
I hope you enjoy teaching and/or practicing your English with these enchanting sea creatures, sailors and surfers! My favourites are Moana, Princess Kida and Ariel. Who are your favourites?
